Biscuits & Bacon with White Gravy

2 cups plus 2 tablespoons All Purpose Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 cup plus 2 cups of Milk (use any kind you wish)
2 teaspoons Butter, melted
Bacon
Black Pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste

*Note: I found that 1 tablespoon of baking powder is too much - the biscuits taste like baking powder with that much in them. I will cut down to 1/2 tablespoon if I make their biscuit recipe again.

I personally prefer this recipe for biscuits: Bilbo's Old Fashioned Buttermilk Biscuits.

Oven 450F

Biscuits:

In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, backing powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.  Combine 1 cup milk and butter then stir into dry ingredients. Drop biscuits by rounded tablespoons onto a baking sheet. Back 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Bacon:

While the biscuits bake, fry down your bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook bacon then drain on paper towels. Save all your bacon grease in your refrigerator in a sealed container for other things but 2 tablespoons of it.

 Gravy:

2 tablespoon of bacon grease in a skillet, add in 2 tablespoons flour - stirring until smooth and not lumpy. Add in 2 cups of milk stirring constantly for a smooth gravy. Break up about 6 pieces of bacon into the gravy. Simmer gravy until desired consistency.

Serve gravy over open faced biscuits and bacon to the side.
