Winter Veil Eggnog

 

3 cups whole milk

1 cup sugar

6 medium eggs

2 cups heavy cream

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1/4 cup rum

1/4 cup brandy

Nutmeg for sprinkling on top


Whisk the eggs then beat them into a pan with the milk and sugar. Keep whisking on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and cool.

Meanwhile, mix the cream, vanilla rum and brandy together in a large bowl or pouring container. Stir in the cooled milk-egg mixture. Chill mixture.

To serve: pour into glasses and sprinkle nutmeg on top.
